Principle of Active Carbon
A layer of balanced surface concentration forms on the particle surface of active carbon, and then organic matter impurities are absorbed into the active carbon particles. As time goes on, the absorption capacity of active carbon will weaken and the absorption effect will reduce accordingly. Besides, the absorption capacity of active carbon is in direct proportion to its contact time with water. The longer the contact time is, the better the filtered water quality
In water quality pretreatment system, active carbon filter can absorb the residual chlorine that can not be removed in former-stage filtration, to prevent reverse osmosis membrane from being oxidized by it in latter filtration. Besides, active carbon filter can also absorb small organic molecules and other polluting substances leaked out from the former-stage filtration, as well as wipe off the colloids, coloring matters and heavy metal ion in water. As a result, the SDI is reduced to less than 5 and the TOC is less than 2.Oppm.
